- Sewing / Finisher
Work in a production environment at a print graphics firm in Blaine that produces large format digital printing for advertising and graphics industries. Exposure to fun and interesting projects.
Position Available: Sewing / Finisher
Position Status: Full-time
Reporting To: Production Manager
Duties: This position will be responsible for verifying quality of printed media prior to finishing (i.e. copy, color quality, dimensions, quantity, materials specified, etc); addresses and proposes solutions to unique finishing requirements; prepares printed media for finishing by measuring, cutting, premasking, and applying liquid laminates; finishes printed media using industrial sewing machines and grommet machine; sews in pockets, hems, webbing, Velcro, ropes & cables; applies adhesive backed materials to rigid substrates; performs preventative maintenance on single- and double-needle sewing machines and grommet machine; operates pallet jack, 2- and 4-wheel dollies to move materials within warehouse; uses powered and manual hand tools to perform assigned tasks; performs daily housekeeping tasks within in finishing area; packaging & labeling; and other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Normal hours are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Occasional overtime may be requested.
Job Requirements/Skills: Industrial sewing machine operation, ability to work independently and/or as part of a team after receiving direction, ability to lift 50 lbs., ability to perform some tasks while kneeling, willingness to learn new skills and tasks
Education and experience needed for job: High school diploma, ability to understand and calculate measurements, industrial sewing machine operation, ability to work cooperatively with co-workers
Compensation & Benefits: Hourly rate range $11-15 per hour (depending on experience). Paid holidays, vacations & sick leave, medical insurance and investment plan available.
